DIMUON PRODUCTION IN p-W AND S-W COLLISIONS AT 200 GeV/c/A

The results of the HELIOS-3 analysis of the ditnuon continuum in the mass ranges 1.35-2.5 GeV/c2 and below 0.6 GeV/c* are presented. An enhanced dirauon production was found in the S-W collisions while the p-W data could be explained as a mix of the Drell-Yan pairs and the simultaneous semileptonic charm decays. The data suggest no visible dependence of the observed excess on the collision centrality. An enhanced dimuon production is also observed at low masses.
