Effects of the exxon valdez oil spill on the subtidal orgnaic geochemistry of two bays in prince william sound,alaska

This study was desifnged to assess the subtidal effects of the Exxon Valdez oil sipll in a large embaymnt in prince William Sound (PWS),Alaska in 1991.A stratified random sampling design wa used to ocmpare stations in the oiled bay (Bay of isles) with stations in a reference bay (Drier Bay) that received little imapct from the sppill.A total of 35 random sampling stations over 3 depth zones in each of the oiled and reference bays enabled the results to be generalized to the bays as a whole.
