In this paper, a C-FxLMS algorithm was implemented in a dSPACE device that was used as a controller platform for active sound quality control (ASQC) inside a passenger car. The algorithm was designed to cancel the unwanted narrowband noise which was generated by the car engine and to enhance the sound of some engine orders. An error microphone at driver's seat, a door loudspeaker near the driver and a subwoofer in its trunk were used. The reference signal was the engine rpm and was measured with a CAN. The output from the controller platform was connected to a power amplifier and then sent to each loudspeaker. The target profile for the ASQC in the car was provided after initial measurement. In active control experiment, the sound profiling system for the actual passenger car was worked successfully as designed during sweep at neutral mode.
