In this paper, a discrete element model is established to simulate the motion of the vibration process of bean bag damper (BBD), and the vibration control effect is studied. The particle-spring model is constructed to simulate the flexible boundary of the bean bag damper, then combined with the discrete element method (DEM) model of particle damper (PD), the model of the BBD is established. The simulation results are compared with previous harmonic excitation experimental data, the displacements and the vibration reduction efficiencies of the experiment and simulation with and without BBD are agreed well with each other, which proved the DEM-based model of the bean bag damper established in this work is feasible.
