In order to obtain the vibration reduction index by using different configurations it is necessary to know the value of the velocity difference between the different elements to be studied. The procedure for this measure is described in the UNE-EN ISO 10848:2006-1 for laboratory conditions only. This technique is nowadays being used to assess the behaviour "in situ" of the different sides, although its limitations are well known. In this Norm it is recommended to carry out with 3 different pairs of velocity difference measures for each stimulation position, with different positions of the transducer. This paper studies the influence of the number of points chosen for measurement, from the standpoint of accuracy analyzing the data from the philosophy of the Guide to the Expression of Uncertainty in Measurement (GUM) and studying the possibility of the philosophy of ISO 5725:1994.
