At the time of the Second International Wind Workshop, I presented the processing method of FY-2 cloud drift wind in China. At that time, We were starting just this studing about cloud drift wind. Passing this two years, we have fineshed the software of cloud drift wind. It has been running testing since Sep. 1995 in M-770 computer in SMC. With geostatinaly meteorological satellite (GMS) S-VISSr Infrared data, we derived cloud drift wind vectors. The result vectors are very good. And it is in agreement with the weather chart analysis. The derived vectors are very usefull in weather analysis and forecast. The weather forecasters are an interesting in that.
