摘要

An expert design system for strength analysis of Novikov, Bevel and Helical gears is proposed for providing better designing environment for engineers. For the analysis of gears, the boundary element method is used in order to develop completely automatic calculation system. In this expert design system, the stress distribution on the tooth is calculated automatically with a minimal designing time and labor for data input. Furthermore, three dimensional graphics of the calculated results are displayed on the computer screen. The code of this expert design system is made for use of a large scale computer, and is also available a personal computer, because the number of elements and nodal points required for analyzing the stress distribution using the boundary element method are decreased considerably by improving the calculation process.
