This paper describes a model scale investigation of shear behaviour in post-tensioned brickwork cantilever fin walls subjected to lateral load. Experimetnal testing of walls based on reduced height models to represent the critical zone under shear are descirbed. The results of test walls based on this modelling technique are presented. The predictions of critical stresses by the finite element analysis correlate well with the values obtained by the Engineering Bending theory except for very high stress levels. It is concluded that the shear behaviour of prestressed walls can be studied by modelling at reduced scale.
