THE IMPACT OF GUILT ON COLLEGE STUDENTS' SOCIAL AVOIDANCE PHENOMENON - DASED ON EYE MOVEMENT EXPERIMENTS

Through the simulation experiment of social interaction, the "point estimation task game" paradigm is used to examine the influence of individuals feeling guilty in social interactive activities on social avoidance and distress. In addition, we further have explored the eye movement and the response of skin conductance of individuals with guilt, and analyzed the internal impact mechanism of guilt on social avoidance. We find that: (1) guilt can significantly affect the individual's social avoidance. (2) The guilt includes social anxiety and fear, which reduces the individual's direct eyes contact with other's, and turns their eyes to other parts of the face, and will automatically trigger the avoidance in social interaction.
