INFLUENCE OF CRYSTALLOGRAPHIC STOICHIOMETRY OF TITANIUM NITRIDE ON ITS SINTERABILITY AND SOME PROPERTIES OF COMPOSITES SINTERED WITH ALUMINIUM OXIDE
Titanium nitride is an important component of modern materials for tools and such like. It plays a particular role as a factor stabilizing the properties of these materials in relation to the co-working (machined) materials. Most frequently, titanium nitride is used as layers or coatings deposited on steel tools or hardmetals inserts with use of CVD or PVD methods, and also as component of hardmetals, s.c. cermets, and oxide-based composites.
