摘要

This paper gives an approach to construct smooth surfaces on arbitrary quadrilateral mesh. We handle vertex compatibility conditions by making the surfaces conserve the constructed vertex local shapes, lessen the number of constraints along edges by utilizing rational connecting functions and eliminate the surface twist by applying multi-step linear variational optimizations to adjust free control points. The result surfaces not only have tangent plane continuity but also fairness.
