The disciplines of Ergonomics and Human Factors - especially as they relate to issues of Health and Safety in human working environments have been receiving unprecedented emphasis in the last several years. Part of this emphasis is traceable to the established programs and planned objectives of the European Union (EU) in the area of social improvement of individuals in the member states.
