We studied the evolution of the visible luminescence emitted by Er~(3+), Yb~(3+) and Er~(3+)-Yb~(3+) doped silica optical fibres when excited by a CW titanium - Sapphire laser in the infrared range [840-970 nm].We describe the energy transfer and multiphoton processes which are responsible for this visible and near infra-red spectra. The variation of these phenomena as a function of the wavelength excitation and the injected power pump is presented and discussed for the different doped fibres. New proof of the energy transfer from the excited Yb~(3+) ions to the Er~(3+) ones is given.
