This paper presents the results obtained using the RACE 2087/ TITAN1 Tool. Five netwonk solutions: conventional copper layout, FTTC, two different FTTB architectures, and a Radio in the Local Loop (RLL) are analysed. The Tool uses a geometrical model to simulate the network layout and calculates the overall cable length. Important input parameters to the geometrical model are subscriber density and duct availability. Cost elements are derived from an integrated cost database developed within the project. Key cost elements such as OAM, powering, civiI works and optoelectronics are discussed.
