A new model for evaluating grinding performance of grinding fluids by using fuzzy comprehensive method was proposed in this paper. Nine kinds of grinding fluids were evaluated and ordered by using the model with four factors: color spots on sidesurface of specimens, hardness drop of ground surface layer, radial wear of the grinding wheel and surface roughness of the ground specimens. Six different couples of fuzzy algorithms were used in the first grade valuation but the deviation of theevaluating results is obvious. In order to decrease the deviation, six couples of fuzzy algorithms were ordered according to idea of least square method, then the second grade evaluation was done with the three better couples of fuzzy algorithms toincrease the reliability of the evaluating results.
