TRACTOR PERFORMANCE WITH RADIAL-PLY TIRES AT RATED DEFLECTION

Significant improvements in fuel use and field capacity were measured by farmers comparing recommended radial-ply tire inflation pressures with higher, more typical, operating pressures. Advantages of properly adjusted inflation pressures can be effectively demonstrated in side-by-side field demonstrations. The demonstrations should include repeated runs for each tractor at each inflation pressure setting to account for any differences in tractor engine performance, tire brand, or tire wear.
