Knowledge-based simulation for teaching

摘要

Knowledge-based simulation incorporates various features of expert systems technology into a behavioral model. Recently, this paradigm has become popular but almost exclusively as an aid to decision making. It is proposed that such an approach is also useful in an educational setting, particularly when the domain is ill-structured. A system currently under development for training police recruits is used to illustrate the structure that this kind of system might have.
