Although ozone has been used successfully for variosu pruposes in water tretment applications, it was observed to be less effective in oxidation of most common organic contaminants of waters and the THm precursors. On the other hand, combinatio nof ozone with UV light or hydrogen peroxide, or hydrogen peroxide with UV light, which are referred to as Advanced Oxidation Techniques, were found to be quite effective for removal of synthetic and natural organic matter from water.
