A real-time moire spatial filtering system using a cheap white light source is proposed in the paper. The system is characterized by its simple set, easy operation, and more moire information than coherent monochromatic light source. Through different filtering, various color moire patterns appear. The increasing or decreasing of fringe orders can be demonstrated by the orders of fringe colors and the center lines of fringes may be determined precisely through edge-strengthened color fringes. The theoretical analyses and derivations about these basic relationships are given. Experimental results of curved bar and circular ring agree well with theoretical solutions, also the relationship between the color orders of fringes and the increasing or decreasing of fringe orders is verified.
