Dynamic carrier control-Indian scenario

In order to upgrade the radio network in India, a number of high power transmitters have been commissioned. To reduce power consumption, an alternative to double sideband amplitude modulation (DSB-AM) is needed. The authors describe the dynamic carrier control (DCC) technique which varies the DSB-AM carrier component. The results of a field trial are presented.
