Liquid Organic Hydrogen Carriers (LOHC) offer an attractive way for the storage of regenerative excess energy from solar or wind power plants. This energy is first of all used to produce H2 by water electrolysis, which is considered as most attractive [1-3]. The hydrogen is then bound to the H2-lean form (H0-LOHC) and the resulting H2-rich molecule (Hx-LOHC) can be stored and transported similar to conventional liquid fuels. If energy is needed, H2 can be released by catalytic dehydrogenation. [4]
