摘要

The flow patterns in the water bath of a bottom blown converter model are visualized by aluminium powder tracer technique and the velocity profiles are measured by Laser-Dppler velocimeter. It has been found that when the thickness of slag covered on the water surface is larger than a critical value, the flow pattern is changed from positive recirculaeing flow into inverse recirculating flow and the recirculating flow rate become smaller. It is also found that the critical thickness of slag is influenced by the slag viscosity.
