This paper discusses a novel node placement strategy to be applied over the agriculture-based application in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) emphasizing over the energy efficiencies and increased network lifetime. Most of the researches do not concentrate on node placement, which is first and critical parameter to estimate the performance of network. The paper discusses the problems associated with conventional random/grid deployment, motivation, research methodology, algorithm description. This paper finally discusses the comparative performance analysis of proposed system of relay node placement and energy modeling with existing node placement strategies in WSN. The simulation demonstrates that proposed system maintains a good balance between communication and energy efficiency.
