CHEMICAL ATTRACTANTS FOR THE SAW-TOOTHED GRAIN BEETLE, ORYZAEPHILUS SURINAMENSIS (L.)

摘要

Early detection of pests in stored products is essential to enable infestations to be detected before much damage has been caused and before the pests have been distributed throughout the trade. The recent development of techniques using pitfall and probe traps has greatly improved the efficiency of pest detection. The aim of the work reported here was to identify attractive chemicals which would enhance catches of insects in the traps.
