摘要

Enzymatically regulated lipd peroxidation associated with aractidoonic acid (AA) metabolism is a normal physicological process. However, cell memberance are subjected to peroxidative damage mediated by such atmospheric pollutants as ozone O_3) and nitttogen dioxide. Oxidant stress results in the accumulation of AA in tissues and the enhancment of its enzymatic oxidation. In addition, the majority of the enzymes involved in AA metabolism are membrane-associated and distruption of the structural integrtity memberanes could affect their activity.
