摘要

Based on the published experimental results, the applicabilityof the empirical formulas and the proposed formula wasinvestigated in this paper. From the investigation, the followingconclusions can be drawn:(1) A confinement coefficient ηc was proposed to reflect theconfinement effect of concrete strength in axially loadedcircular CFDST short columns;(2) The proposed formula can effectively predict thecompressive strengths of circular CFDST short columnsfabricated not only within a large range ofdiameter-to-thickness ratio and hollow ratio, but alsowithin normal- and high- strength steel and concrete.
