Infrared temperature measurement has attracted great attention because of these unique advantages for low cost and expanded applications, especially with the development of computer technology and semiconductor technology, the performance parameters and manufacturing level of infrared thermal imager have been obviously improved. However, in practice, the temperature of the tested object measured by infrared thermal imager cannot be guaranteed to be the real temperature of the object. Therefore, this study provides a new experimental method for improving the measurement accuracy of the object under the condition of changeable off-site environment, and calibrate the temperature measuring system and internal parameters of infrared thermal imager. The results indicate that the farther the measuring distance, the greater the temperature measurement error, and which will not met the requirements of temperature measurement accuracy. The atmospheric transmittance has not relationship with the temperature characteristics of the measured object. This study will improve the temperature measurement accuracy of infrared thermal imager.
