Achievable Information Rate Performance Comparison of Frequency-pilot-aided and Blind Carrier Phase Estimation Methods

For carrier phase estimation in optical coherent receivers, we numerically compare achievable information rate performances of frequency-pilot-aided method and blind phase search method. The frequency-pilot method has higher tolerance for phase noise even for 256QAM. © 2020 The Author(s)
