Using Task Analysis and Environmental Survey Hazard Analysis to identify requirements of autonomous systems

Two characteristic features of autonomous systems (distinguishing them from systems that are merely 'automatic') are (1) that they are usually required to perform and achieve complex situated behaviour patterns, and (2) that they are required to perform non-mission tasks as well as the tasks that define their mission or purpose.
