An Air Conditioning System with Power Quality Improvement

A bridgeless power factor-corrected (PFC) converter-fed BLDC motor is modeled and designed for an air conditioning system (ACS). Bridgeless configuration eliminates the requirement of diode bridge at the input side. By this arrangement, overall losses and the total number of conducting devices used in one switching cycle are reduced. The performance of air conditioning system is validated through analysis, design and simulation.
