This paper deals with the digital simulation of the vector controlof fixed frequency current controlled (FF CC) PWM inverter-fed selfcontrolled synchronous motor (SCSM) for unity power factor operation(u.p.f.) with fast dynamic response. The reference currents aregenerated by the vector controller in accordance with the rotorpositions. The error currents after operating on the respectiveP/PI-controllers are compared with the triangular carrier wave atconstant frequency. The generalised d-q model of the synchronous motorwithout damper windings has been used for the self controlledsynchronous mode operation. A simplified model, based on justifiableassumptions, has also been obtained for the CC PWM inverter-fed SCSM.The complete simulation has been carried out in TURBO-C and transientand steady state responses have been studied
