We have developed a fuzzy combination operator `*and*', that canaccount for synergism among the items that make up the conditions of arule. Usually, when the condition part of a rule contains severalconditions, the global truth value of the rule is given by thecombination of the truth values of all the conditions, using acombination operator (t-norm, t-conorm). Using usual combinationoperators, however, it is not possible to express the synergisticrelations that may exist among the different items in the conditions, asin the expert's knowledge. So, We proposed a new combination operator,denoted by `*and*', which can express this synergistic effect. When usedwith the usual combination operator, the `*and*' operator adds thesynergistic effect to the area where it is necessary. Using thisoperator, it becomes possible to use the expert's knowledge,representing it as a usual rule. In this paper, we explain the effectwhen we use the `*and*' operator for the combination operator of thefuzzy control rules
