Assessment of electric field along corona-suppression systems forhigh voltage rotating machines is fundamental for the design of reliablegradient systems. This paper presents the results of a study focused onthe modeling and analysis of the electrostatic potential and field alongcorona-suppression systems for high voltage machines. The model is basedon the finite difference method. A correlation between the gradientsystem resistance and the electric field distribution is discussed. Theeffect of the main insulation design parameters on the electric fieldenhancement is presented in this study
