One solution to reduce the risk of theft is by precaution refers to situational crime prevention. This research aims to design a theft prevention system by imitating the presence of homeowner. The system adopts the previous design. Additionally, this system seeks to mimic the habits of homeowners more accurately. A survey has been conducted to support the system design. Two level of randomness is used to control the electrical appliances. The first level is used to randomize the powering of electrical devices, while the second one is used to randomize the active duration. The system generates a number at first level every ten minutes for turning on an electrical appliance. Then, the active duration of the appliance produced at the second level. Most of the generated numbers will be ignored if it is not in agreement with the results of the survey. Simulation results show that the system can mimic more accurate to the habits of homeowners. Randomization process of electrical appliances is divided into three time zones: afternoon, early evening and after midnight. Approximately 90% of the generated numbers were ignored. The most overlooked number is the one representing the porch lights. While the most frequently used number is a number that represents the bathroom.
