Since Chinese urbanization has accelerated dramatically, land has become a bottle-neck of restricting the urban development. How to effectively increase the supply of land for urban construction has become a nationwide concern. The replacement between cultivated lands and the non-farm use land is an effectual approach of increasing land for urban construction. This paper discusses the need for and feasibility of replacement of land first. Then, it compares three different models of replacement of land. Its ultimate aim is to effectually mitigate the lack of land for construction by improving and optimizing the replacement model of land based on analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of several replacement models.
