Massive machine-type communication (mMTC) is a typical application scenario of the next generation mobile communication. To minimize energy consumption and keep the system reliable, we propose an energy efficient scheduling scheme. The proposed system offloads the user equipments (UEs) by clustering, and allocates limited resources to the clusters effectively. In the proposed fuzzy time slot scheduling scheme, we adopt sleep mode, grant-free access and the fuzzy time slot to reduce energy consumption. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme can satisfy the requirement of massive machine-type communication and achieve better performance than the contention-based access and time division multiple access (TDMA) in the massive connectivity scenario. Besides, the proposed scheme gets a better trade-off between the probability of collision and the energy consumption.
