The two-equation k - omega turbulence model due to Wilcox has been implemented in OVERFLOW thin-layer Navier-Stokes code. Both high and low Reynolds number forms of the model including compressibility corrections were considered. The near-wall consistency and accuracy of the high and low Reynolds number forms of the model for boundary layers has been examined. For free shear layers, it is shown that the dependence of the solution on the freestream value of omega can be reduced by the specification of a lower limit for the freestream value of omega, without the added complexity of the cross diffusion term. An eddy viscosity correction due to Menter based on shear stress transport has been incorporated to provide improved predictions for separated flows.
