Method and apparatus for controlling boundary layer turbulence and turbulence in a fluid flow field adjacent to a wall

In turbulent flow, the turbulence in the flow field can be increased or suppressed by manual means in the boundary layer or wall adjacent fluid flow field with the average of roll pairs or streaks adjacent to the wall under natural conditions and with a turbulent wall region extending in the flow direction. This is controlled by introducing a disturbance which increases or decreases locally into the turbulent wall region.
