The world around us is very uncertain and unpredictable. Nobivalent logic (also called Boolean or binary logic or law of excludedmiddle) can possibly solve real world problems without oversimplification. Many approximate reasoning (also called multi-valued, orcontinuous or fuzzy logic) methods have been proposed and applied to thereal world problems. These methods differ in the way they representuncertainty and handle uncertainty in the real world problems. In thispaper we study, compare and understand relations between fuzzy logic andevidential reasoning methods for application to data fusion problem intransportation engineering
