Remarks on Sentinel-1 Avionic SW Qualification

The Sentinel-1 spacecraft, part of the ESA GMES programme, is a SAR remote sensing satellite produced by ThalesAlenia Space Italia (TAS-I) as Prime Contractor. TAS-I is also directly responsible for the production of the SpacecraftBus and the Avionic S/S. This paper is focused on the Sentinel-1 Avionic SW, which has currently been qualified forFlight. The paper covers both the SW architecture and development process areas:1 Avionic SW architecture;2 Flexibility of PUS-based on-board autonomy and FDIR;3 Completion of the Validation and Qualification activities;4 Description of the Software Development and Verification Environment.
