This presentation is a demonstration of two freeware programs to accomplishschematic capture and printed circuit board layout. The use of this software allowsamateurs, with very limited experience to design and purchase printed circuit board forless than $55.The demonstration will show the layout of a UHF preamp using surface mountcomponents that allow printed circuits to be ordered with two day delivery. Thispresentation includes a cursory tutorial on surface mount devices and the tools neededto populate a PCB.
