Tsunami Hazard Assessment at GuangHai Bay of the South China Sea

The COMCOT model from Cornell University has been optimized,which was validated by 2011 Japan tsunami. The simulation resultsagreed well with the DRAT buoys from NOAA center. Assessmentwere implemented by tsunami sources of Manila Trench to evaluatetsunami hazards for the GuangHai Bay of the South China Sea (SCS).The tsunami hazard rank criteria recommended by UNESCO/IOC andthe State Oceanic Administration of China has been applied in thispaper. Tsunami hazards classifications were divided for the GuangHaiBay by analyzing the simulation results. Preliminary assessment oftsunami hazards have been completed in the paper.
