摘要

The introduction of third generation SF6 interruptertechnology has done much to enhance the performance and reliability ofswitching devices used at the highest distribution voltages andthroughout the transmission voltage range. Auto expansion circuitbreakers where significantly less energy is required from the mechanismare now common place. Development activity is now being directed to thenext generation of interrupter devices which will utilise rotating arcSF6 interrupters. These devices offering the user even moreadvantages than the currently applied technologies. Two techniques havebeen utilised: (1) incorporating a secondary field using permanentmagnets; and (2) incorporating a small puffer unit into the design whichwould produce sufficient quantities of clean gas to interrupt smallcurrents
