Effective and efficient requirements negotiation is a key to thesuccess of software development efforts. For large projects, this can beespecially difficult to do effectively and efficiently when combininginput from non-co-located experts and reaching consensus among thedifferent stakeholders (e.g., end-users, developers, software assurance,customers) as well as among the different aspects of softwarerequirements (e.g., functionality, nonfunctional quality, andinfrastructure). Stakeholder perception conflicts about requirementsissues should be identified and resolved in the early stage of theproject lifecycle to achieve a shared vision of the requirements. Wediscuss the issues and potential solution approaches for softwarerequirements negotiation problems through visualization. Therepresentation of stakeholder perceptions, visualization of theperceptions, and conflict identification and resolution in thevisualized perceptions are discussed
