Advanced collision warning systems

摘要

The paper outlines the framework under which Jaguar is carryingout its collision warning and avoidance research. It shows the historyof the work, the progression from conventional cruise control toadaptive cruise control and then on to collision warning andintervention. The approach used by Jaguar to develop and check on theuser needs/requirements for collision warning systems is described. Thestrategies being adopted for the warnings and intervention arediscussed, as are issues related to the sensor and scenario prediction.The planned trials to evaluate the system and the possible saleableproduct are then briefly discussed
