Considers virtual circuit packet switching communication networksthat employ processor sharing type service disciplines and studies theirstability when the offered traffic to the network has exponentiallybounded burstiness (EBB). The authors employ an exponentialcharacterization (EBB) introduced in a previous work to analyze thistype of system in a stochastic setting. They first examine the GPS andPGPS servers in isolation, and demonstrate their superiority to ageneral server in the stochastic environment. They then show that anetwork of servers, that are all either GPS or PGPS, is stable wheneverthe service rate of each node is larger than the total arrival rate toit. In addition, they provide exponential upper bounds to the trafficflows within the network links, and to the backlogs of each session inthe various nodes on its path
