Coupling simulations for passively aligned optical interconnectarrays

A simulator for the modeling of optical coupling in optoelectronicinterconnect arrays is presented. Multi-mode and single-mode couplingprocesses for pairs of optical elements including light sources, fiberwaveguides, lenses, and detectors. Simulated results have beencorrelated with measured data. The accuracy of the modeling has beenassessed. Several examples of optical coupling in passively alignednon-ideal interconnect arrays are presented
