The current work expands on our previous studies of unsteady aerodynamic and aeroacoustic responses in time-harmonic gust-airfoil interaction problem. In particular, we first focus on comparing numerical inviscid predictions against several theories including analytical models of Sears,1 Goldstein & Atassi,2 Horlock,3 and Chiang and Fleeter,4 to investigate effects of airfoil thickness, angle of attack and camber in 2D gust-airfoil interaction. The studies are further extended to include effects of 3D oblique gust, with the numerical in-viscid analysis compared against analytical results of Graham.5 In all numerical studies, a gust disturbance is generated in the momentum source region upstream of the airfoil based on the method established in our previous work.
