Differential thermal analysis method and appropriate heating model are presented. Next, the general description of designed and constructed device (by Authors) - Differential Scanning Calorimeter (DSC) is given. It is used to determine some thermal properties of physical modern materials (i.e. glass/softening temperature in chalcogenide glasses). Modeling of heating process with non-linear properties, observed in device, required in thermal analysis is considered in this paper, where a block Hammerstein structure is selected to describe both dynamic and non-linear properties of phenomenon. A parametric identification method with least squares and SVD decomposition approaches is proposed. The chosen method has been experimentally tested and numerically compared with the linear (FIR) model for real data.
