Through this paper, we have presented a low-cost cold storage management system based on IoT to overcome the difficulties of keeping track of food quality and quantity. Our proposed approach makes use of heterogeneous IoT devices, cloud services, and an Android application. To keep track of food quantity we have used UV Sensor which gives us the occupancy of the box in which food is kept from which food quantity can be calculated and a MQ4 gas sensor is to detect methane gas in the atmosphere which tells the quality (freshness) of the food. Based on experiments conducted we observed that our proposed model accurately detected food quantity and whenever food started degrading it alerted about it instantly thereby indicating about food quality.
